Walmart, the country’s largest private employer, is using virtual reality headsets to test which employees have the aptitude for middle management positions. -
STRIVR, a company based in Menlo Park, California, designed Walmart’s virtual reality training using $250 Oculus Go VR headsets. -
The VR headsets place the company’s associates in real-life situations, such as giving store tours and calming angry shoppers. -
Use of the VR headsets has expanded to all Walmart stores, and, as of February, 10,000 employees have undergone the skill management assessment. -
